I would support the development of a bionic person if its for a good reason. For example if a person was injured in an accident like robocop. I think that a person should be able to live as much of a normal life as possible. If the medical technology is available to help people I think it should be utilized. If I lost an arm in an accident I would be the first one in line to get a replacement. Although we may not need this technology to much longer because research is being conducted on human regeneration.
Would your view change if this were for military purpose?
It depends on the situations if a soldier was injured serving and they needed to become "bionic" to live close to a normal life I would support it. If the military would like to harness this technology to use as a weapon I think it would be a negative thing. If this technology is use to help people it is a good thing but if it is used as a weapon that is bad.
